Last week, pulled a dozen racks out the mailbox
for everyone who hopped bail and turned Hale Bopp.
Ridin comets to heaven for $5.75.
Work the mortars and pestlesapply pressure, then grind
Their vibe can only be described as post-sound,
while my music's bumped like an elbow in the coach aisle.
Shown round the house I built, they touch nothing
cuz their hands needin Palmolive bottles and scrub brushes.
Slipping off the grid, playin it lowkey.
Descendant of demigodsthe hammer chose me.
Bring my ties to the finish line, even OT.
Whole sheets of goldleaf at the flow's feet.
Whatup, Kipp? Brought the reign to Cleveland
like Shawn Kemp. Got em slammin 40s off rip.
Ceiling getting smaller, standin taller til it splits
with my back to the wall, and my face to the bricks.
I fantasize bout this back on the farm though
mercy me my g we got so far to go
over thinking breaking it down to the last particle
we hold the peace and spilling my grievance through a microphone
the light was low the kind of hope we find was in the microscope
the pint was gone
it got me feeling light michael's final tone
to write a life changing song was the mindset that I was on
but I stifled my latent growth
got a lot of shit to say my boy you might die if you say it wrong
hide yo feelings and play along
you said a mouthful or a mind full
I pull from a dark place in the brain
I feel like dufrain first time in the rain
birdbox when I aim pulling art from the pain
where you start where you came
condemned homes and ebt pin codes
cancerous vision with lymph nodes
big stone 66689 the big HOMMÈ
devil in the disco now you cooking with crisco
I’m on my tip toes reaching my n***a I’m this close
switching like Nintendo triple entendres 64 dim glow
from the bottom it’s lookin slow for this rhymin shit
hate what I’m being honest about they love me for my honesty
a paradox indeed if not the best keep secret at least a nominee
you love the trauma behind the comedy
I paid dues with a decade of peace
this shit was not for free
I figured the climb was steep

This is by far my favorite Open Mike Eagle release, of the ones I've heard. I downloaded the WAV version, and recorded it to tape for use on my walkman, which makes for a groovy headphone experience! Amazing album, and bonus points for including P.O.S.! Spivkurl

If I had to compare this album to any in Apollo Brown's list of albums, it would be "Dice Game" , the production here is super soulful, bleak and emotional at times, Philmore Greene is so genuine lyrically on here, here he is honest, detailed, Pessimistic at times, when it comes to speaking on his surroundings and upbringing, their is a strength you carry through experience, this album is much needed, an artist translating his true soul into the Art. markmcauley1 (Strictly Hip-Hop Spot)
